An update on Jorge Martin’s recovery was published by Aprilia.

The MotoGP champion has been on the sidelines since he injured his rib and lungs at the Qatar Grand Prix.

The latest update from Aprilia on June 3rd read:

“In the chest, rib fractures follow physiological evolution.

“Martin had a clinical examination and a CT scan of the chest and wrist.

“The clinical results are fairly positive due to the integrated distal radial fractures.

“The fracture lines of the hull are still visible, but further electromagnetic therapy must be considered intensively.

“A new medical checkup will be conducted in one month.”

Jorge Martin Motogp returns under the cloud

The next planned health checkup in early July will take place after the Dutch MotoGP in Assen, 10 out of 22.

Martin has still raced for Aprilia at one Grand Prix since joining from Ducati. However, he crashed and suffered the current injury.

Previously, he missed the start of the 2025 season after suffering separate injuries in the preseason.

However, Martin’s return is not confirmed – the date will come in his desire to quit Aprilia.

He made clear his intention to invoke contractual clauses that would allow him to leave Aprilia at the end of this season.

This has led to alerts for MotoGP rivals, including Honda.

Martin provided a slight olive branch, suggesting that Aprilia could be given a period to prove their competitiveness when they returned from injuries this season.

He returned to Aprilia Garage for the first time since the bomb was announced at a promotional event last weekend.

Martin took a step forward in his recovery by riding his bike and hitting Misano.

However, he will not return to MotoGP action until the Czech Republic’s early rounds between July 18th and 20th.
