Bruno Fernandez shares his decision to Man United about his future amid Al Giral’s connection

Bruno Fernandez has made his stance clear about his immediate future and chose to stay at Manchester United and continue to compete at the highest level in European football, according to Sky Reporter Florian Plettenberg.

Despite recent interest from Saudi professional league giant Al Hilal, the Portuguese midfielder has decided to stay at Old Trafford.

United didn’t think about letting Fernandez leave this summer because of the importance they had at the club and the way they played for them over the years.

Several sections of the media even suggested that the Red Devils began looking for alternatives to the 30-year-old midfielder.

Fernandez is the heart of Reuben Amorim’s plan

However, all of these proposals are now rejected as Fernandez decided to stay with the club to maintain some of Reuben Amorim’s project at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese midfielder recently contacted Man United that he has no inclination to embrace the move towards the Middle East.

Al-Hilal reportedly had an interest in tempting a unified captain with a favorable offer, but Fernandez reaffirmed his ambition to remain in top European competition in the near future.

There was no high level of discussion between Fernandez and the Saudi Arabian Club.

The 30-year-old has signed a contract with Manchester United until 2027 when he signed a long-term extension in April 2027. Despite challenging the club’s 2024/25 campaign, Fernandez is an important figure at Old Trafford as the leader of the pitch.

His commitment has been a major boost to United fans who are increasingly concerned about speculation surrounding top players amid the club’s uncertainty.

As United is expected to undergo a team rebuild under Ineos’ sports leadership, Fernandez is considered the centre of those plans, both in his technical capabilities and leadership qualities.

Even if the team endured a disappointing domestic campaign, he ended the season with a strong individual performance.
