Pacer comfortably beat the Knicks in Game 6, winning the NBA Finals spot. Zach Lowe shares the funny thing that happened at the team’s hotel in New York the night before.
The New York Knicks were eliminated from the NBA playoffs in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The game was by no means particularly close. The Indiana Pacers won easily.
The Knicks player quickly accepted liability after the loss. Mitchell Robinson has sent a message to fans, accepting that he has to get better.
That was a less than ideal for New York’s season. And while no one else takes responsibility for them other than themselves, the players seem to have dealt with an unexpected situation the night before.
Getting enough rest is paramount when preparing for an elimination playoff game. New York was not given that luxury.
The hotel where the team was staying in Indiana had a bit of an incident the night before Game 6. Zacklow provided details in a recent report.
“Apparently the night before Game 6 in Indiana, the fire alarm went out at the Knicks hotel,” Lowe said.
“There are some mysteries as to how that happened, I checked with a few agents and then checked with the players.
“I think it’s 12:45-1:00 AM. Many players are probably still awake.”
Despite the disappointment, the Knicks had the most successful season of the 2000s. They arrived at the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in 25 years.
The team links to Giannis Antetocomo’s move, and Stephen A. Smith claims he won’t hesitate to make it happen.
He has also been asked about the future of director Tom Thibodeau. He has the support of their master, Jalen Brunson, but he could also play with his work.
New York has been able to see many dramatic changes during the offseason. Whatever the organization decides what to do, they should probably hire someone to keep an eye on the hotel’s fire alarms.
