John Annick says Pena should not be underestimated
In an interview with Mmafighting.com, the UFC has played-by-play commentator Jon Anik explained one key aspect of Julianna Pena, making her a live underdog.
“I recently went back and watched Amanda Nunez vs Juliana Pena1 (UFC 269), which is the film I need to watch right now,” Annick told MMA Fighting. “(Penna’s head coach) Rick Little has been saying for years how mean and nasty she is, the most human to me, and she’s just a nasty f*cking stab and I just want to be on the trench, along with toughness, cardio and self-faith.
“And I think that’s what you need against two otherworldly decorated Olympic champions like Kayla Harrison, who have to deal with the battle before the battle.
Many wonder whether the outcome of Pena’s title defense against Kayla Harrison could affect the potential return of Amanda Nunes.
