Motogp rookie Ai Ogura, who fractured his right tibia during practice with Silverstone, was also removed from the Aragon Grand Prix this weekend.
A medical check-up in Barcelona with Dr. Juan Monrau, a surgeon who underwent keyhole surgery to repair a fracture, found that the Japanese rider’s feet were still not healed enough to ride in eight rounds.
So Raul Fernandez will be the only trackhouse rider to be on track this weekend and in Monday’s post-race tests, but Ogra will turn his attention to his return at the Italian Grand Prix in two weeks.
Ogra joins world champion Jorge Martin, a bystander at Prilia, and test rider Lorenzo Sabadri, who replaced Martin along with Marco Betzecchi, with a team at the factory.
Gresini’s Fermin Ardegare is currently leading Ogra with 13 points in the Rookie of the Year title chase.
