Tyreese Halliburton wasn’t the first player to steal a victory from the OKC Thunder on the home court, and the 24-year-old fan reminded fans of what happened in the end.
Thunder fans will wonder how the team lost Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Indiana Pacers. At halftime, some people felt the game was rap, if not the entire series.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander looked a bit unstoppable, as Gary Payton said. On a 38-point outing, the SGA did everything to pass the lightning.
But Tyrese Halliburton continued to make history with the heroes of his clutches. After yet another great comeback, we learned that the Pacers could beat the lightning.
Well, Jalen Williams wouldn’t appreciate that sentiment. And he wanted the team to remember exactly what happened when they stole Game 1 from them.
Jalen Williams cut out a very frustrated person at a press conference. After the defeat in Smash Game 1, Jalen Williams reminded everyone that the series wasn’t over.
He emphasized that the first team to win four games would win the series, pointing out the Denver Nuggets series, where they lost Game 1 but won four of the seven games as proof that they could make a comeback.
“Well, that’s awful. But we’ve been here before. Obviously, in the Denver series, it’s the same thing to be totally honest. We’ll go back to 0-0 and see what we can do to get better.”
“First, it’s four. Whether it’s the Final or Round 1 or not. You still need to win four games. So, take that and prepare for Game 2.”
Jalen Williams is not ready to throw the towel. And given how the Denver Nuggets series turned out, they still have no reason to worry.
After a Game 1 loss to the Denver Nuggets, the Oklahoma City Thunder returned in persuasive fashion to win Game 2.
The series has now reached seven games. The Thunder wants to avoid the same fate in the NBA Finals. But as Gary Payton predicted, OKC and Pacers were able to go to seven games. Expect the Thunder to come out in Game 1 with a fire we didn’t see.
In fact, the Thunder are 3-0 in Game 2 in the playoffs so far. However, the pacer is also 3-0 in Game 2 and 6-0 in the first two games of each of the series.
As they say in the fight game, “someone’s 0 has to go,” and that would be an interesting battle between the two best teams in the NBA.
