UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovsky provided the latest updates on his next fight in the promotion.
As we know, Alexander Volkanovsky is one of the greatest fighters of all time. He has achieved truly incredible things throughout the age of mixed martial arts. And as we look ahead of the future, there is a clear possibility that he has a lot left in the tank. But no matter how you view it, there’s no denying that there’s a bit of confusion at the top of the featherweight division now.
Many believe Movsar Evloev should get his next shot with Alexander Volkanovski, but for now it looks like Frontrunner is Yair Rodriguez. He fought him once in the past, but when they clashed, it was “great” that ruled Yaa in a rather one-sided contest and ended.
In a recent interview, Alexander Volkanovski provided his own update on the current situation regarding his next outing.
Alexander Volkanovski discusses the upcoming UFC fight
“It’s obviously not going to be Movsar,” Volkanovski told Fox Sports Australia. “That’s the guy I thought he was. Obviously he’s undefeated and it’s like tears like he’s there, but I think they matched him. You saw him tweet something about it.
“Yair’s name has appeared. The date is not set now, so again, I think it’s a lot of moving parts throughout the department. I think there’s a lot of stuff going on right now, so we’ll see what’s going on.
