Leeds is about to close Ipswich Ace’s summer deal

Leeds has been keen to sign at least one central defender this summer, turning his eyesight to a player who was kicked out of the Premier League last season.

Leeds recognizes that many players need to sign to be able to compete in the Premier League, and some players have experience in the competition being taken to Elland Road this summer. Nick Pope, Calvin Phillips and Thomas Sousek have been linked in recent weeks, adding new names to the club’s plans.

As reported by Sun (via Leeds Press) of Ireland, Leeds is aiming for Ipswich defender Dara O’Shea. Wolves and Burnley, who were with Ireland International during the 2023-24 season, are also said to be lined up with the 26-year-old’s movements.

O’Shea has suffered consecutive relegations with Burnley and Ipswich over the past few seasons, so he could portend a bad foreshadowing. However, Leeds sees him as a good player to add to the team before returning to the Premier League next season.

Pascal Struijk and Joe Rodon, and now the starters for Leeds are in centre-back positions, but O’Shea offers a very good competition. He is said to be possible for a fee of £15 million. This is reasonably priced for the Yorkshire Club.

It remains to be seen who will add Leeds to their team before next season. O’Shea is a good option, but he is not the only central defender considered in the club’s sports division. Further names may be linked in the coming weeks.
