According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, Olympic Lyon has rejected its first offer from Manchester City for the services of Rayan Cerki. Negotiations between the two clubs continue, with the Premier League preparing a second club.

The attacking midfielder has already approved the transfer and is waiting for the club to reach an agreement. At this point, he is relaxed and is fully focused on France and on Sunday’s upcoming third place match against Germany in the UEFA Nations League, and is set to begin after an impactful cameo performance against Spain in the semi-finals with goals and assists.

The 21-year-old has never played for a club other than Lyon so far, and has risen through the academy ranks. In 2024/25, he made a total of 44 appearances in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and generating 20 assists. At this point, he has two years left on his contract.
