Arsenal signs Kepa Alizabaraga from Chelsea

Arsenal is expected to complete Kepa Alizabaraga’s signature from Chelsea in the coming days, according to multiple sources.

The 30-year-old has been writing books for Chelsea as he is still a goalkeeper world record fee since joining Athletic Bilbao in 2018 for 80 million euros, but he spent his last two seasons on loan at Real Madrid and Bournemouth. Obviously there is no more place for him at Stamford Bridge. Therefore, he agreed to join Arsenal and act as a backup for David Raya. His current contract with Chelsea clearly includes a release clause of £5 million, and the gunners will cause it to complete the transfer.

Last season, Kepa made a total of 35 appearances for Bournemouth, conceded 43 goals and held nine clean sheets. He has 13 caps as Spanish International in his name, but the last time he stood between his country’s posts was over two years ago, when Spain caused a shocking defeat to Scotland in his Euro 2024 qualification.
