Tim McMahon commented on the “feasible scenarios” that could emerge in the Dallas Mavericks, arising from Jason Kidd rumors

Tim McMahon spoke about Jason Kidd leaving his Dallas Mavericks head coaching job to join the New York Knicks.

The Knicks reassured head coach Tom Thibodeau after losing to the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Gary Payton was not satisfied with the firing and asked his players to blame for their loss in the final.

Since news of his shootings broke out, several top names have been linked to New York Knicks’ work.

Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd is one of them.

But ESPN’s Tim MacMahon talks about the interesting points about Kidd who doesn’t want to leave Mavericks.

Kidd has been a Mavericks coach since 2021 and helped him reach some deep playoff runs.

He helped develop the talented Luka Donsic into one of the best point guards in the NBA, and also made the Mavericks a scary playoff team, but this season has been even more difficult.

Reports suggest that the Knicks approached the Mavericks to talk to Kid about their coaching position.

However, McMahon believes Cooper Flags will be coming in, but it’s unlikely that a former NBA player would want to leave the organization.

“J-Kid doesn’t want to leave Mavericks, but that doesn’t mean he’s not interested in working with Knicks,” MacMahon said.

He also said, “I don’t think J-Kid wants to escape hell from Dallas, especially the Cooper Flag coming in.”

Kidd signed a multi-year deal with the Mavericks only last year, making it even more difficult for the Knicks to ride him.

“I don’t want to put any odds on anything here, but one very viable scenario here is that J-Kid ends up with a rebuilt extended extension,” ESPN analysts said.

Kidd’s rise to becoming a top NBA coach has been seen by everyone since he was with Brooklyn Net.

He was also an assistant coach for the 2020 LA Lakers Championship team.

Since joining the Mavericks, Kidd has done an incredible job, leading his team to multiple 50-win seasons. This includes trips to the NBA Finals.

The 2024-25 season was a disappointing season for the Dallas team, but they suffered multiple injuries and their team was shaken by the deal.

They were given a boost after MAV scored the number one pick that was expected to pick the Cooper Flag.

General Manager Nico Harrison has received a lot of criticism for trading Don Sic, but Mavs has a roster next season where all the stars can return from injuries and compete for the championship.

Flag shows the world what he can do and has also won praise from current NBA players.

Once Kid stays at MAVS they can compete for the championship and the Knicks also offer the possibility of doing so, but as a former player in the organization, he is loved and respected in Dallas, and the team does their best to keep him as a coach.
