The Octagon returned to New Jersey for tonight’s UFC 316 pay-per-view event, with four fighters leaving with performance bonuses.

The fight card was headlined by a rematch in the men’s bantamweight title fight between Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O’Malley. The match proved to be another dominant performance for ruler and still champion Merab Dvalishvili. “The Machine” was able to connect to some good shots on the feet. Eventually, in the third round, Merab locked a north-south choke that forced Sean O’Malley to tap out. It was a very impressive performance from the Georgian period, what many of his peers called him a bantamweight goat.

UFC 316 was co-headlined by the women’s bantamweight title fight between Juliana Pena and Kayla Harrison. The contest brought a dominant performance from Kayla Harrison’s now new champion. The former two-time Olympic gold medalist was able to overwhelm Julian Na Pena on the canvas in both opening rounds. Following the impressive victory, Harrison called out Amanda Nunez to try and enter the cage for a showdown. That battle is likely to happen next, and certainly will be a much-anticipated showdown.

Following the end of tonight’s event, UFC officials announced at a postwar press conference that the four fighters would be filming performance bonuses.
