Profile after Joe Pyfer defeats Kelvin Gastelum in UFC 316

Tonight’s UFC 316 main card featured a highly anticipated middleweight showdown between Joe Pyfer and Kelvin Gastelum.

Gastherum (19-10 MMA) is back in action for the first time since beating Daniel Rodriguez in Saudi Arabia last June. “KG” went 2-3 overall in his last five Octagon appearances.

Meanwhile, Joe Piffer (14-3 MMA) also last competed in June 2024, where he won a knockout victory over Mark Andre Barrier. Previously, the promising candidate had suffered a loss of a unanimous decision to Jack Hermanson.

Tonight’s “Pyfer vs. Gastelum” match looked as if it would end early after Joe landed two knockdowns in the opening round. However, Kelvin Gastherm showed his grit and managed to compete in round two. Fifteen minutes later, the judges ruled the contest in favor of Pyfer by unanimous decision.

You need to study the chin of Gastelam.
It cracked early, but it’s incredible that he made it for the last bell after he was attacked.
