Are you ready to go again? Newcastle United supporters will have to wait a few months or months for their team to become competitive again.
But when Eddie Howe led his team to the field, he would do so as he ended the 70-year wait for the club’s major domestic silverware after beating Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.
Furthermore, magpie efforts throughout the Premier League campaign have intoxicated the success of the final day on top flight, sealing off the fifth-place spot and bringing the doorway back to the Champions League.
Newcastle endured the disastrous summer 2024 transfer window and launched its campaign on a weak footing. Currently, PIF is in a better position to comply with the PSR and is expected to sign.
You can expect incoming calls, but you may need to go one or two. Mainly, Anthony Gordon could be in danger, Liverpool is interested, and United has listed him for £80 million.
Let’s see how the Magpie boss brings it all together.
1
GK-James Trafford
Nick Pope was a great servant in Newcastle, but the Conclave is held to determine whether a new face is needed between the sticks, and James Trafford is considered appropriate.
Reports say Newcastle has prepared a £20 million offer to Burnley’s shotstopper. That manager, Scott Parker, welcomed him with his “world-class” abilities.
2
RB -Tino Livramento
Bids for Manchester City’s Tino Livrament are stagnant and we hope that it will stay that way.
As journalist Zach Lowy said, “Livramento is not only one of the best right backs in the UK, but also one of the best left backs.”
3
CB -Marc Guehi
Last summer, Newcastle failed with one, not two, but three, and four bids from Crystal Palace centreback Mark Guech.
Toon is now back as a three-man Lions star, winning the FA Cup in May, just a year away from free agency.
The Eagles know they’ll run around quickly and cash out superstars with a £50 million rating.
4
CB -Sven Botman
Sven Botman has endured another injured campaign, but he hopes to build a solid partnership with Guehi over the next few years and build fitness throughout the offseason.
However, with Dan Burn and Fabian Schar still in the mix, Howe certainly managed to choose a talented and defensive option.
5
LB-Lewis Hall
Since March following his uncle surgery, Lewis Hall has proven to be one of Newcastle’s biggest success stories last season, producing an age-appropriate performance to solidify himself as one of the best young players in the Premier League.
A brilliant support for United’s adopted setup.
6
DM -Bruno Guimares
Newcastle was able to bet their claim on having the best midfield in the Premier League, and Bruno Guimarès was a lynchpin.
The complete package, and some to sign the Brazilian general for £40 million from Lyon was one of PIF’s first moves in January 2022.

No Newcastle players have been featured more regularly than Guimares under Howe’s Wing.
7
CM – Sandro Tonali
One of Newcastle’s best players in the 2024/25 campaign – if not Best – Sandro Tonali’s Redemption Arc was an eye-opener, an elegant and intelligent part of United’s build-up play with backline protection.
The decision to place Italy International in a deep midfield role in place of Guimaré last fall has started to execute the winning results at will, creating a foundation of glory further down.
8
CM -Joelinton
If it is not broken, do not fix it. Newcastle will need to make a series of signatures this summer, but the heart of the park is one area where Jollington’s brutal energy adds an optimal counterpoint to Tonari’s class and Guimarais’ all-influence capabilities, so it needs to provide movement towards depth, rather than a prominent investment.
9
RW -Anthony Lunari
Nottingham Forest signed Manchester United’s Anthony Elanga in 2023, but his performance, leading Newcastle over 2023/24, rejected a £50 million bid for the transfer deadline last summer.
Brian Mbemo has chosen to take part in the Old Trafford turmoil this summer, but Newcastle will be able to win a high-level winger for Elanga, 23.

The move to the City Ground proved to be a career-determining move in the best sense of the Swedish star, and now the magpies have to lurk in and take the next bold step in his development.
10
LW -Joao Pedro
If Newcastle sells Gordon, they bank up to £80 million. Redirecting towards dynamic forwards like the Joao Pedro is a surefire way to fire clubs on every cylinder.
According to The Telegraph, Tynesiders have identified Pedro, who can win Pedro -£59 million, as the best guy to join the club after missing out on Mbeumo.
He scored 30 goals and added 10 assists to the Seagulls’ 70 appearances, and will get better and better at the age of 23.
