Chelsea is in constant discussion with forwards like Neymar.

Chelsea continue to work on their summer recruitment plans even after the pre-club World Cup transfer deadline passed at 7pm on Tuesday, with manager Enzo Maresca able to add new players to their team midway through the tournament.

The mini-summer window, which opened from June 1st to June 10th, was thought to be Chelsea’s only opportunity to bolster ahead of the CWC campaign.

After all, that was why the window was introduced in the first place – competing teams would have the opportunity to register new players after the long, tough 2024/2025 campaign.

However, in recent days, Sky Sports reporter Kabe Solhekol said Chelsea and the rest of the team have participated in the tournament as well, with their own registration period to benefit from CWC’s Midway.

From June 27th to July 3rd, just after the group stages are over, teams will be given the opportunity to add new players to their CWC roster. This will allow Chelsea to showcase new signatures that can take part in the Knockout phase.

Chelsea missed out on deals for both AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan and Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens.

Chelsea also bid three last minute on the Gitens, but could not satisfy Dortmund, who continued to demand more and more money due to the British sense.

It is unclear whether Chelsea will maintain their pursuit of Giten in time for the CWC unique registration period from June 27, but perhaps they can resort to Aintrak’s Frankfurt sense instead.

There are reports that Chelsea believes Ekitique will ultimately compete with Newcastle United star Alexander Isaac.

According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, he is still “to see” as Chelsea remained in Ekitique’s talks despite not signing in time for the CWC.

“Chelsea and Ekitique continue to receive talks from the summer transfer window, but Liverpool is still racing,” Plettenberg said.

The 22-year-old is highly rated and Ekitique is worth the punt as former Inter Milan star Wesley Snader calls it a blend of Neymar and Killian Mbappe, but not his outrageous high-value tag, at around £84 million.

“I think he’s a mix of Neymar and (Kilian) Mbappe. I really do think so,” Snader said.

“He has Neymar’s bounty, but Mbappe’s move, too. That’s what Mbappe has to do to accelerate suddenly. And he’s 22 years old. There’s so much potential for this boy.”
