The 49ers are currently looking at Leeds’ Premier League £25 million star

Leeds United are headed towards a busy summer transfer business as they try to make sure their team is ready to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Athletic reporter Belem Cross reports that Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff is one of the names of the club’s potential targets to improve midfield options. He claimed that there are no bids for the English maestro, but he is the “experienced” player they like.

Longstaff only started eight times in the Premier League during the 2024/25 campaign. Leeds was able to try and provide the opportunity to play more regularly for the next semester.

However, the championship champion is reportedly seeing another star on top flight that will be a signature far better than the magpie ace in Home Glow.

Turn to Brentford midfielder Leeds

According to CatedOffside, Leeds United are one of the teams monitoring Brentford Central midfielder Yehor Yarmolyuk ahead of the summer transfer period.

The report claims that white people, Tottenham Hotspur, Burnley, Everton, wolves, Borussia Dortmund and Napoli are protecting the tabs at Ukrainian International.

The bees are set to charge a fee of around £25 million for the 21-year-old talent, and say no clubs have yet to make a formal offer for his services.

Catch-offside adds that Brentford likes to keep holding on to him to take advantage of his quality in the Premier League in his next term, but Leeds now has to convince him to say goodbye to the young gem by meeting the £25 million ask price.

Why should Leeds sign Yehor Yarmolyuk?

Daniel Fark should push the club to dive down due to the bee midfielder over the long staff movement, due to his age profile and the quality he can provide on the pitch.

He was six years younger than the 21-year-old Newcastlester and was able to make an immediate impact as a long-term addition to the group.

Yarmolyuk, who was described as a “dynamic” player for Thomas Frank, started only 15 of his 31 outings on top flights, but showed many promises in the minutes he played.

Looking at his performance compared to Longstaff in the Premier League during the 2024/25 campaign, Ukraine International appears to be a better option for Leeds on paper.

As you can see in the table above, Yarmolyuk can provide more to Farke’s team by not owning both of his plays, especially when it comes to moving the ball to the third of offensive, while remaining efficient in passing.

These statistics suggest that Brentford’s ace is very similar, if not better, defensively, to its advantages, but more effective at making things happen at the top of the pitch.

Thus, the £25 million rated midfielder outperformed him in the Premier League, but will be a much better signature than the Newcastle men as he is able to supply more quality in the long run due to his age.

He could be a great investment for his future at age 21, but he is also a Premier League proven star who can hit the ground running to Fark next season.
