In the latest update to Kevin Durant’s sweepstakes, one notable insider linked the Phoenix Suns to two possible teams.

Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns are looking for his next team. The Suns Forward is virtually guaranteed to depart through this offseason trading.

Earlier this week, Shams Charania revealed that the New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs are among the teams of interest.

Each team can offer a variety of package quality. So the Sands will have to enjoy a little bit of bidding war to take advantage of the best possible returns.

However, according to one trusted NBA insider, Kevin Durant’s sweepstakes are currently only available to the aforementioned two teams.

The NBA insiders passing through Ary in X revealed that the last two teams fighting to land Kevin Durant are the Minnesota Timberwolves and Houston Rockets.

Ary had paid for in the past on previous reports. Therefore, there must be a fire due to the smoke he is referring to.

He previously reported that both sides were the most talked about, but the Spurs and Toronto Raptors were also external options. According to his Intel, both of these countries appear to be out of the race.

The Timberwolves were unable to trade for Durant at the deadline, but the expiring contracts of Julius Randle, Naz Reed and Nickaire Alexander Walker should open up some cap space for them.

When it comes to the Rockets, they have long been considered a favorite. Not only because of its depth and assets, but also because they want to recover the draft assets that the Sands gave up on land Durant.

Ary also reported that he could finalize the deal within the next week as many people in the NBA circle expect to trade by then.

There is a reason why both sides are invading to land Durant. The Timberwolves need a trusted co-star of Anthony Edwards.

But the truth is, their roster needs stars who are very young and have specific championship experience.

In any potential deal, the Timberwolves will give up Rob Dillingham, but they don’t like to do so. The same goes for Rudy Gobert, who has a huge deal to allow him to eat when the Sands enters rebuilding.

Rockets also require Durant’s experience, but they can provide a better package to land the stars. First of all, they can provide their own draft picks to the Suns.

But even more importantly, the rocket has young athletes who can develop the sun during reconstruction. Jalen Green and Jabari Smith Jr. could be two options that rockets will consider when formalizing trade.
