With the completion of the 2025 US Triple Crown Season, the focus of the horse racing world will shift from the Saratoga Racing Course across the Pond to one of the most prestigious events on the annual calendar. The five-day Royal Ascott Tournament will begin on Tuesday, June 17th at the gorgeous Ascott Racecourse in Berkshire, England. The royal meeting brought many of the top horses in the UK and Ireland, winning a total of £10,050,000 (approximately $1356 million) prize money, with only a handful from the US.
Royal Ascott resembles large US events such as the Kentucky Derby and the Breeders’ Cup World Championship. Because it’s more than just horse racing. Five days are filled with fashion, celebrity surveillance, and historical brands and circumstances bound by British monarchy (Ascott Racecourse was founded by Queen Anne in 1711).
This year marks the third Royal Ascot tournament. Queen Elizabeth II, the ambassador for international horse racing, served as the monarch for 70 years until her death on September 8th, 2022. The royal procession, paraded by carriages in front of cheering members, celebrates the 200.th Anniversary of 2025.

When that happens:
The tournament will be held from Tuesday, June 17th to Saturday, June 21st. Seven races are cards each day, with the first post scheduled for 9:30am (2:30pm local time). The final race of the daily schedule is scheduled to run at 1:10 PM ET (6:10 PM local time).
Major races:
Of the 35 Royal Ascott races, eight are Group 1 Stakes (highest rating in the world). Three of these group races will take place on the first day of June 17th. Ann Ann Queen is a stake for horses over the age of 4. King Charles III has a stake in horses over the age of three. and the stakes of St. James Palace, the 3-year-old Colts.
On Wednesday, June 18th, horses over 4 years old challenged the Prince of Wales stakes, and on Thursday, June 19th, horses over 4 years old will be squared in a 2.5-mile gold cup true stamina test.
Additionally, two Group 1 bets are set for Friday, June 20th. The 3-year-old Colts and Philly’s Commonwealth Cup and the 3-year-old Philly’s Corner Crown Stakes. Finally, on Saturday, June 21st, horses aged 4 and older will race at the Jubilee Stakes of King Elizabeth II. King Charles III’s stakes on Tuesday will be a five-furlong sprint, with QE II Jubilee on closing day taking place in six furlongs.
Four races during the meeting will win and participate in the Challenge Series Qualifying for the 2025 Breeders’ Cup World Championship. 1 at Del Mar, California. Winners of these four stakes will receive a guaranteed cost wage spot at the start gate of the designated Breeders’ Cup race. The aforementioned Queen Ann Stakes and King Charles III Stakes have won on Tuesday, and will be qualifying for the Fanduel Breaders’ Cup Mile, announced by the PDJF and Prevagen Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint, respectively. Wednesday’s Prince of Wales Stakes is the Lawn Challenge Series Qualifying for the Rondeine Breeders Cup. Group 2 Norfolk Stakes, a five-fur long dash held as the opening race held on Royal Ascott’s Thursday June 19th card, will win the qualifying round for the Breeders’ Cup Boys Turf Sprint.
Where to see:
NBC Sports will be performing races from Royal Ascot and available on the Peacock streaming service for races from Tuesday to Saturday. Streaming will begin at Peacock from 8:30am Tuesday through Friday. The entire Royal Ascot Meeting will also be aired live on Funde L TV every day.
The race on Saturday, June 21st will air live on the NBC Sports app from 9am on NBC and Peacock, NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app.
How to bet:
Betting on British pony is different from the state. Set fixed odds with bookmakers like Loveroke and William Hill and go from there. Leinster Philly Rennil, the Gulf Stream of this year’s Royal Palm Juvenile Phillies, will target the Queen Mary Stakes on Wednesday, June 18th.
Shisospicy, a 3-year-old grass sprinter, probably has the best chance to win among our shippers. The grey Mitol Philly began his career with dirt last fall, finishing first, second and third with three starts. However, after she was switched to the grass by trainer Jose Dangelo in February, she winded up three consecutive victories, including a consecutive score in the Fan Duel Limestone stakes in Keeneland and a Grade 3 Mumzel Stake at Churchill Downs, held at 5½ Furlong.
