Former Ferrari boss Stefano Domenicali backs Fred Vasser: “Let him work in peace.”

Former Ferrari team principal and current F1 boss Stefano Domenicali supports Frederic Vasseur in reports that he is under pressure to continue his work.

Ahead of the F1 Canadian Grand Prix this weekend, an Italian press report claimed that Vasseur was fighting to continue his job as boss of the team.

Ferrari endured a disastrous start to the 2025 F1 season.

Ferrari is already close to 200 points for McLaren in the Constructors Championship nine races later.

They have won three podiums at this point, showing only the pace they won in the race at Monaco, an outlier circuit.

Speculation surrounding Vassar is strengthened, especially as Ferrari waits for a replacement on the wing.

According to Corriere Della Sera, Ferrari Endrance chief Antonello Coletta was nominated for his strength.

The next few races are extremely important, according to the report, as Ferrari brings new upgrades to save the season.

If the upgrade doesn’t fill the gap with McLaren, we’ll need to pay attention to next year and new regulations.

Vasseur is published by Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton.

The seven-time world champion said it was a key reason why Vasseur took part in Ferrari.

Vasseur himself attacked at a press conference on Friday and returned to the report.

Domenicali provides support for Vasseur

Domenicali rose to rank and became the principal of the Ferrari team in 2008.

In his first year with the team, Ferrari won the constructor title ahead of McLaren.

That’s still the latest title for Ferrari.

The Italians set out in early 2014 after a bad start to the year as Fernando Alonso failed to win the title under Domenicali leadership.

Domenicali, now head of F1, says Vasuzar should be allowed to “work in peace” and Ferrari should be allowed to “return to the top.”

“Leave Frederic Vaserre alone,” Domenicali told L’Equipe. “He’s doing a great job, he needs to focus on his goals and stay strong. He needs to separate himself from external pressure. Now, he needs to save all his energy to keep up with his work.”

“I told him, and I’m officially saying to you: I believe him! He should not fall into the trap of weakening in the face of these attacks, because they always come.
