Francis Ngannow praised Kamal Usman following his latter victory over Joaquin Buckley at UFC Atlanta.

At the main event at UFC Atlanta, Kamalusman reminded us why he was one of the best welterweights of all time. The former champion dominated Joaquin Buckley through most of their encounters after a series of successful takedowns, landing nasty ground and pounds. Buckley had his fifth strong round, but overcoming the “Nigerian nightmare” wasn’t enough. He looked like himself again.

Many decided to write down Usman after three straight losses. Of course, they faced Leon Edwards and Kahamzat Chimaev, and Chimaev’s defeat was soon defeated. Kamal is one of the most resilient fighters we’ve ever seen at 170 pounds, and while it would have been easy for him to get into the sunset and retire, the 38-year-old clearly feels like he has something to prove.
The one man who was there to watch all the drama unfold was nothing but Francis Ngannow. These two men have been close friends for a long time and it was great to be able to go back to the UFC environment and see him. In a post-event tweet, Ngannou quickly praised both Usman and his opponent Buckley for what they could produce.
