Usman (20-4 MMA) will be taking part in tonight’s contest in hopes of snapping a skid that lost three games. The former welterweight Kingpin was actually acted earlier in October 2023, suffering a majority decision loss to Kamzachimev at UFC 294.

Meanwhile, Joaquin Buckley (21-6 MMA) will enter the headliner tonight, achieving a six-game winning streak. “Newmantha” last acted this December, earning a TKO victory over former interim title holder Colby Covington. Tonight’s victory allowed the 31-year-old Streaking to be a title rival.

One of the main events at UFC Atlanta began, and this had no glove touch. Kamal Usman is able to quickly enter and pull down the “new mansa” to the canvas. He drags him out and establishes a perfect guard position on top. “Nigerian Nightmare” moves to the half guard. He works with some short punches and elbows. Joaquin Buckley appears to scramble at his feet, but Usman doesn’t let him. The former champion returns to full guard and is on a short strike. The former champion with his original elbow. He moves to the half guard and begins to land his left hand and fist on the hammer. Buckley appears to be bleeding now. Kamal Usman continues to keep the judges out. Another big elbow. A hard punch to close the opening round.

Round 2 of the main event for UFC Atlanta begins, with Joaquin Buckley moving forward with a low kick and a left hand that misses the mark. Another combination of “new mansa”. They were big shots, but none were flashed. Kamal Usman kicks. He feints the takedown and then lands the kick. In return, a lovely kick to your body by Buckley. He jumps into his pocket with a three-punch combination, but Usman avoids it. The straight right Kamal. He dives with a double leg takedown and gets it. There is three minutes left in the second round. Kamal Usman with good ground and pounds. He passes half guard and starts working at several elbows. Joaquin Buckley has been arrested and is bleeding. Usman moves to full mount. He is attacking the “new mansa”. The horn sounds like it’s over round two.

Round 3 of the UFC Atlanta Headliner begins, with Joaquin Buckley landing a body kick. He is trying to put together some combinations. So far, Kamal Usman has done a good job of avoiding the important things. Buckley has a big right on top. Usman shoots, stomps on one foot and lands. He needed it. Usman soon moves to the half guard. Better punches and elbows from the former champion. “New Mansa” appears to scramble at his feet. But Kamal Usman is clever to it and drags him straight away. From Usman to the left. Some big elbows to close the round.

Round 4 of the main event at UFC Atlanta begins, with Joaquin Buckley partially connecting with a high kick and diving into his pocket with a hard hook. “New Mantha” goes to your body with a side kick. Kamal Usman is patient as he knows he is on the scorecard. Buckley still appears to have some heat in his punches and he throws out another combination. Kamal Usman feints with a takedown and lands a nice right hand behind it. Joaquin Buckley with a lovely left hook. Usman shakes it and lands to his own left. Another good hook from “New Mansa”. The former welterweight champion shoots a takedown. He pushes Buckley against the cage before picking him up and placing it on the canvas. Good ground and pounds by Usman to close round four.

The fifth final round of UFC Atlanta headliners begins, and Joaquin Buckley comes out with a shaking hard leather. He partially connects with a loop hook. Kamal Usman is trying to fight back, but he is unable to connect with his counterattack. “Nigeria Nightmare” shoots for takedown. This time, Buckley packs it in. Another takedown attempt is to be done, but the “New Mansa” once again protects it. Usman has a refreshing jab in the middle. Buckley answers with the left hook that connects. Usman with one leg. He moves for the double. He makes it easy, but Joaquin Buckley breaks freely and lands a big punch. Buckley misses with a wild uppercut. Two minutes remain in the fight. Usman tries to film. He doesn’t get a takedown, but he can push Buckley into the cage. 90 seconds left. “New Mansa” with several large hooks. He lands on the fierce left. Kamal Usman answers with a good jab. 30 seconds left. A big uppercut and a backley with a left hook. Usman is unconscious. Buckley needs a home run. He won’t get it.
