Sunderland is currently about to re-sign a “incredible” Bellingham alternative

4 Min Read

Sunderland has always faced the challenge of challenging the Premier League, but the Black Cat will make your journey to even bigger times more unsettling as Job Bellingham leaves the club.

Bellingham followed in the footsteps of his respected brothers, joined German giant Borussia Dortmund and did much work this summer to close the notable gaps.

The Wearside weak can aim to introduce an interesting EFL star as a replacement for the skilled 19-year-old.

Sunderland is aiming to move EFL stars

According to a new report in the Daily Mail, Sunderland is looking for a dive where Leeds United exile Sam Greenwood could potentially bolster its attack options.

He struggles for a big patch of Elland Road’s career, but Greenwood is on loan from West Yorkshire alongside Preston North End and Middlesbrough in the Championship, and Sunderland is currently eager to win the service.

Leicester City is also in the race ahead of the 23-year-old fox to the second tier, but the Black Cats’ newly acquired Premier League status, along with the fact that they are actually from Sunderland – certainly should give an advantage.

Before heading to Leeds, he was actually in the books at Sunderland and Arsenal academies.

How Greenwood replaces Bellingham

There’s a lot of pressure to come to Greenwood’s shoulder and fill in the blank left by Bellingham, but it’s clear he deserves more game time on top flights, not to get the flash of excellence in the EFL’s elite league, as he doesn’t become a spare face of Daniel Fark’s gear.

After all, Bellingham caught his eye with his elegant display at the Stadium of Light, while Greenwood has consistently entertained EFL fans when he moved to lending from Leeds.

Surprisingly, the 23-year-old scored more championship goals last season than Bellingham. Five goals were the end of his stay in Deepdale, compared to his current Dortmund four.

By the end of the loan stint in Lancashire, Greenwood had scored a total of seven strikes from 45 crashes. In addition to that, he has six championship assists next to his name.

Apart from providing the same firepower as Bellingham, the “incredible” attacker is similar to the Bandesliga-bound midfielder, as Fark once described him. It offers a lot of versatility.

Greenwood actually boasts more career goals and will help the 23-year-old line up as center forward as he could potentially provide another striker presence for Luburi.

But he can also line up as a winger or a central figure like Bellingham, pointing in the direction that this could be a wise move for Sunderland to try and patch Starman’s exit.

Greenwood has goals and four assists next to his name when Whites took advantage of it sparingly in the Premier League. In other words, taking many actions in the wake of Bellingham’s sad departure really allowed me to kick under Le Bliss’s guidance.
