Last Sunday’s Canadian Grand Prix live television broadcast averaged 1.9 million viewers, with the largest viewer of the US television event, the television race-only viewer (2:00pm ET) that was the biggest audience ever to watch on US television.
The audience rose from last year’s 1.8 million viewers, but at the time it was the largest ever race. The race averaged 854,000 viewers in the demographic ages 18-49.
Of the nine Formula 1 races held so far this season, all but one (Miami) have grown, with five of the nine (Australia, China, Monaco, Spain and Canada) gaining an event record audience. The Monaco Grand Prix audience was the third largest live audience ever in Formula 1 races on US television.
All of ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC, Formula 1 races averaged 1.3 million viewers, up 6% on the season average for the 2024 season and 16% on the overall 2024 season average.
Of the 18-49-year-olds, races averaged 507,000 viewers, up 23% on the average 2024 season, up 13% from the 2024 season.
