Immigration and customs enforcement shut down all exits to Delta Downs as they raided truck backstretches in search of undocumented workers. The track is located in Bington, Louisiana, in the middle of Quarter Horse Meat.
Ed Fenasi, executive director of the Louisiana Jockeys’ Benevolent Conservation Association, said immigration enforcement officers deployed the drones during the raid in search of undocumented workers. He added that he received updates on the attack from other sources.
According to local NBC affiliate KPLC, Louisiana State Police and the Parish Calcaseuous Sheriff’s Office helped with the investigation but were unable to provide details.
Boyd Game, which owns Delta Downs, has issued a statement on the situation. “We are fully compliant with federal labor laws and to our knowledge, no Delta Downs team members were involved in this issue.
