NEW YORK – Coleman Wong is Hong Kong’s first participant to win a Grand Slam Males’s Singles match for the reason that begin of the 1968 period.
Wong defeated American Alexander Kovasevic in a straight set within the first spherical of the US Open on Monday. He scored 6-4, 7-5, 7-6 (4) in just below two hours.
The 21-year-old was ranked 173rd on the ATP Tour and made her fundamental draw grand slam debut. He was quick on qualifying in two qualifying rounds on the Flushing Meadows, the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the French Open.
Wong is scheduled to face Australia’s Adam Walton within the second spherical.
