GRAND BLANS, Michigan — Stewart Sink defended the title within the Alliance Problem for his second PGA Tour Champions victory, defeating Ernie Els within the first gap of Sunday’s playoffs.
Cink was closed at a 4-under 68, birdieing two of the final three holes, and matched the ELS at Warwick Hills’ 15-under 201. Else interpreted the final 5 holes at 69.
“It is fairly annoying, so I do not know if it would improve or subtract out of your life for years,” Cink stated. “However when you’re successful, when you’re on the aspect of the stick about this, it feels so good. It was a lot enjoyable. I put down the stretch loads. Ernie hadn’t accomplished something flawed and he was within the flawed place right now.”
Cink, 52, received the Insperity Invitational in Texas in Might, beating Goosen within the playoffs. He received eight PGA Excursions and was the highest of the Open in 2009.
Cink opened at 62 and shot 71 on Friday, coming into the ultimate spherical stroke behind the ELS.
Steven Alker (65), Cameron Percy (70) and Soren Kjeldsen (70) completed third at 12 underneath. Goosen (71) and Tongchajaide (69) had been underneath the age of 11.
