Honda confirms management change ahead of WorldSBK 2026

Honda is ready to make main modifications to its WorldSBK program subsequent season, changing coach Jose Escames.

“My new position as group supervisor will change,” Escames himself advised WorldSBK.com in Estoril on Thursday, October 9.

Two new riders ‘good decisions’

If unsuccessful, Mori will take over as group supervisor after subsequent week’s Jerez spherical (October 17-19), taking on Honda’s well-established mission in World Superbike.

Since Honda returned as a manufacturing facility group with the new-generation Fireblade in 2020, they’ve achieved simply six podium finishes. Alvaro Bautista gained three of them in his two seasons with the mission in 2020 and 2021, whereas Iker Lecuona has gained twice and Xavi Vierge has gained as soon as since they each joined the mission in 2022.

Each Vierge and Lecuona will likely be changed subsequent season as Honda welcomes two new gamers in Jake Dixon and Somkiat Chantra.

“I feel it is a sensible choice,” Escames stated. “Particularly two riders with this potential, coming from totally different lessons and with an extended expertise.
