TOKYO — Elena Rybakina withdrew from the Pan Pacific Open on Saturday, citing again issues, a day after clinching her remaining remaining spot within the WTA Finals with a win within the quarterfinals.
The 2022 Wimbledon champion was scheduled to face Linda Noskova within the semi-finals of the Tokyo event.
“I’m very dissatisfied that I couldn’t play in the present day,” Rybakina mentioned in an announcement. “I have been having issues with my decrease again this week and might’t play 100%.”
Rybakina defeated Victoria Mboko 6-3, 7-6 (4) on Friday to guide an eighth place spot in subsequent month’s profitable WTA Finals in Saudi Arabia.
On the WTA Finals, scheduled for November 1-8, Rybakina will face top-ranked gamers Arina Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Amanda Anisimova, Madison Keys, Jessica Pegula and Jasmine Paolini.
Gauff is Riyadh’s defending champion. The American defeated Olympic champion Zheng Qinwen in final 12 months’s remaining and gained $4.8 million in prize cash.
