OTSUTSU — Nasa Hataoka received a playoff on Sunday, clinching the LPGA’s TOTO Japan Traditional after the ultimate 18 holes had been washed out by all-day rain and what officers known as “unplayable course situations.”
Hataoka and fellow Japanese golfer Yuna Araki shared the lead on Saturday at 15-under 201 after 54 holes at Seta Golf Membership in western Japan.
After Sunday’s common play was canceled as a result of rain, Hataoka received with an impromptu end on the primary gap of the playoff, defeating Thailand and taking the title. This was her seventh title on the LPGA Tour.
