
Jonathan Rea says WorldSBK has taught him extra about life than “any scholar can educate me.”
Rea held a press convention in Jerez in October forward of his remaining race as a full-time World Superbike rider, throughout which he paid tribute to Chaz Davies as his greatest rival of his profession.
A Northern Irishman, he attended college early in his profession till he was legally in a position to go away training beneath the British system. However in some methods, it was World Superbike, or motorbike racing normally, that he discovered extra instructional.
When requested how he would sum up his profession, Jonathan Rea answered, “It has been a dream.”
“Sure, it is like a dream.
“My mother and father pressured me to go to highschool. I needed to go to highschool.
“I feel this sport and superbikes have taught me extra about life, friendships, relationships, enterprise, profitable and dropping than any tutorial might ever educate me.
“I am simply so grateful. It was like a dream.”
Rea ended his full-time racing profession at Jerez on Sunday when he crashed out on the opening lap of the Tremendous Pole race and was dominated out of Race 2 on account of a knee harm.
He has since signed with Honda as a check rider for the Japanese manufacturing facility in 2026, and there’s a chance that he’ll compete as a wildcard at Donington Park or Portimao subsequent season.
Xavi Vierge changed Rea at Pata Yamaha, whereas crew chief Oriol Pallares, who he had labored with in 2025, moved to Bimota to work with Axel Bassani, changing Marcel Duinkel.
