UFC legend Matt Brown warned John Jones not to exaggerate his hand as he is waiting for more news about the possible battle with Tom Aspinoll.
When it comes to John Jones’ legacy, everyone can agree that he is one of the greatest fighters of all time. That being said, his recent inactivity, coupled with his lack of desire to fight Tom Aspinol, questions what statement he would have made if he retired instead of taking on the interim heavyweight champion.
Whether you’re a John Jones fan or not, it’s safe to say he’s rubbing the majority of people the wrong way. Hopefully, with an absolute minimum, he gives him another fight before he gets on the sunset.
On a recent podcast, Matt Brown has overwhelmed John Jones’s current ordeal.
John Jones warned Matt Brown
“They say the biggest heavyweight fight you can do is with John Jones,” Brown said in the latest episode of the fighter and writer. “They know that. They also know that the UFC will destroy records without him. But I think the UFC will depend on how powerful John has.
“They want the biggest fight in heavyweight history and know that’s what Tom and John have to offer at this point. At the same time, John knows whether they’ll walk away by saying ‘f*ck you’.
“There’s no one else to fight for John. If he continues to fight, he’s going to fight Tom, he’ll fight Tom. So I’m waiting for him.
