Stephen A. Smith is unhappy with how Leon Rose and the New York Knicks treated Tom Thibodeau.

The New York Knicks fired Tom Thibodeau in one of the more surprising moves by the NBA team in recent memory.

After taking a team to the Eastern Conference Finals, coaches are rarely fired. However, the Knicks decided it was time to say goodbye to Thibodeau and issued a statement after the decision.

The news has already been revealed that Jason Kidd is a possible option to become the next Knicks coach. It is clear that the path ahead of the Knicks has already begun.

But one man isn’t satisfied with the way the Knicks did business.

Longtime Knicks fan Stephen A. Smith worked on Tom Thibodeau’s shooting in the NBA today. He denounced Knicks President Leon Rose for the way he handled the situation.

Smith believes Knicks fans should find a statement that the front office issued an attack and blamed Rose for her coronavirus acting for not addressing the media.

“To be very honest with you, I think as New Yorkers, we should all attack Leon Rose’s statement. Get hell in front of the microphone and camera and answer your questions.”

“Stop being a coward, that’s how he acts. I’m not calling him either a man or a person.”

“I say that’s how he serves as president of the New York Knicks when it comes to communicating with the media and clarifying the decisions you made and why they’re being made.”

Speaking later in the day at SportsCenter, Smith repeated the same points about Rose’s reluctance to deal with the media with physical capabilities.

“It’s nothing but pathetic to communicate in terms of accountability and to speak to the New York fanbase, really, really.”

“And as far as I’m concerned, I think the NBA should be fined for something like this. There’s no excuse for that.”

“You take the New York Knicks fan base for granted. They know people are stuffing Madison Square Garden.

Smith points out some notable points about how Rose handled the situation. However, it should be noted that ESPN analysts have long been a supporter of Tom Thibodeau’s voice.

Ultimately, the decision to fire Thibodeau was right, no matter how controversial. But Leon Rose needs to handle the media a lot better than he does.
