Erik Ten Hag could be trying to unite Man United in the transfer market

Former Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has a huge favour for his old club in the transfer market.

According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Ten Hag is keen on the shocking move to sign Man Utd Flop Antony for his new club Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

Antony has spent the last six months lending at Real Betis after a nightmare spell at Old Trafford, showing signs of returning to his best in Spain.

Ten Hag took Antony to United from his former club Ajax.

Plettenberg emphasizes that for the time being, Antony is just one of the names on Leverkusen’s list, so this isn’t necessarily close to a completed transaction.

But if the Brazilian winger becomes Leverkusen’s priority, that would be interesting.

Can Antony bounce back from Manchester United’s mistakes?

Antony was shining under Ten Hag in Ajax, but was unable to repeat his tricks with Dutch tacticians while in Manchester.

Still, the 25-year-old has been on track since leaving MUFC for Lone Spell with Betis, playing a key role in helping the club reach the final of the Europa Conference League.

He’s just not cut out due to the very high standards of the Premier League, and perhaps he could have got his career back on track with the transition to the Bundesliga.

Antony is likely to leave with Man Utd Mass Summer Sale

Antony will be one of many big names leaving United this summer as Reuben Amorim is about to clear the chaos left behind for him.

I also imagine Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and perhaps Alejandro Garnacho and Cobbie Mineu leaving the club.

If they could sell to fund the money for a new signature, it would certainly help United. So Leverkusen can give them a great favor if Ten Hug really pushes them to move for Antony.
