Kayla Harrison discusses the importance of the Battle of Amanda Nunes

UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Kayla Harrison discussed the importance of her seemingly inevitable superfight against former champion Amanda Nunes.

Last night, Kayla Harrison won the biggest victory of her mixed martial arts career. She was able to rule and defeat Juliana Pena, claiming the Bantamweight crown in the process. Pena may not have been on her level at night, but certainly there are people there – and her name is Amanda Nunes.

After the match, Nunes entered the ring and faced off against Kayla Harrison. The two were very respectful to each other, but there is no denying that they both know how big this fight will be. They are two of the most successful female fighters in the history of the ultimate fighting championship, and when they square it will definitely be a mammoth clash.

Of course, we don’t have a date or an era yet, but we know that the UFC is actively invested in making it happen. For Nunes, her legacy is already safe – and, as Kayla Harrison has revealed, that’s exactly what she wants. At a postwar press conference, she informed that this would be one of the biggest battles in recent memory.
