Defensive shakeups can be seen targeting the movement of rival Premier League defenders

Liverpool is involved in the contract dilemma regarding one of the most important players.

Defender Ibrahima Conate is set to become a free agent next year, and Liverpool is about to agree to a new deal with the French defender, one of the best players under Arne Slot.

The French defender has formed a solid defensive partnership with Captain Virgil van Dick at the club.

However, his long-term future remains uncertain as the defender has not yet signed a new deal at Anfield. A recent Trent Alexander Arnold could lead to similar situations.

He ran for a contract with the club and left as a free agent to join Real Madrid.

Liverpool star Ibrahima Konate has high wage demand

According to TBR Football, Conate is demanding “a big buck” to sign a new contract with the Premier League champions.

The French defender earns less than players like Joe Gomez, Costas Tsimicas and Federico Chiesa.

Journalist Graeme Bailey warns that Liverpool has narrow windows. “If no deal is agreed next month, there is a real prospect that he is on sale.”

Liverpool faces difficult situations with regard to Konate and if his situation doesn’t resolve immediately, they may have to enter the market for new central defenders.

According to Bailey, Liverpool could search for new options in the market, with Nathan Tsez of Nantes, Mark Guech of Crystal Palace, Ilya Zabarini of Bournemouth and Jarad Brantwaite of Everton giving Red a name so that it could target them.

Within the names above, Bluntwaite is playing for city rival Everton, so he intends to catch the eye of fans.

Branthwaite quickly established himself as one of England’s most skilled young central defenders with a strong show at Everton and a loan at PSV.

His consistent shape and presence of left foot has attracted attention from top Premier League clubs.

Sporting Defender Goncalo Inacio is another player on the radar of the Premier League champions.

The next few weeks will be decisive. Rather than risk losing him for free next summer, Liverpool will have to weigh whether they will meet Konate’s demands and hold a key defender or cash.
