Jorge Martin Aprilia’s prediction of “confusion” is “not completely complete”

There have been predictions about Jorge Martin’s situation with Prilia.

The future of the MotoGP champions is in the air, even before completing one Grand Prix with current employers.

Martin intends to use the contract clause to ensure that new pastures can be found in 2026.

“That’s confusion,” analyzed Neil Hodgson of TNT Sports.

“You don’t want to see it. We were told he signed a two-year contract, but we didn’t know the clause.

“You thought it would roll over naturally like most of the time. Jorge had to assess whether he wanted to continue.

“Obviously he’s not finished the race!”

Forecasts regarding Jorge Martin Aprilia exit

Questions remain as to what will happen next.

Jorge Martin hinted at a “second chance” for both parties. His contract reportedly has a time when Martin and Aprilia can evaluate each other next year. But it expired while he was injured.

Hodgson explained: “He asked ‘Prilia’, ‘We can move it forward.’ But they said, “No, we need to respect that agreement – it’s yes or no.” He said, “No.”

“It’s not done entirely. They’re about to meet up on the way, but they’re both playing hardball and getting messy.

“I think he’ll leave at the end of the year.

“It’s happening again. He did it at KTM when he was a Moto2 rider. He switched to Pramac Ducati – that was the right thing.”

Martin won the 2024 MotoGP title at Pramac Ducati, but it wasn’t enough to win a factory ride to Mark Marquez.

He signed Aprilia but was seriously injured in preseason tests. In his late debut in Qatar, he injured his ribs and lungs on the huge high side. There is no date for the comeback yet.

“The #1 plate is better. It wasn’t ideal for Aprilia. He’s their No. 1 rider piloting their development,” Hodgson said.

“He was slower than ever. When he moved to MotoGP in his rookie season, he led his second race and finished on the podium.

“The problem is that he’s not here in another month because he’s not hurt.”

In his absence, Aprilia acquired the British Motogup through Marco Betzecki.

Aprilia boss Massimo Rivola claimed that he had used the moment to prove that they owned the winning bike.
