Tsunoda was handed over 10 grid drops at the F1 Canada Grand Prix.
The Red Bull driver was hit by a major penalty for overtaking McLaren’s Oscar Piastri under the red flag in his final practice in Montreal.
Tsunoda passed Piastri as the leader of the Formula 1 Championship hit the championship wall after hitting the championship wall, he stepped into the pits in a damaged car.
However, when Tsunoda completed the overtaking, the session was under red flag conditions.
“There’s no good reason” for overtaking the horned horned
Tsunoda decides to pass him, claiming he is worried that he could be attacked by debris from Piastri’s car – but the steward disagreed.
“Steward heard from the driver of the car (Yuki Tsunoda) and he was a representative of the team and reviewed the measurement/marshalling of the system’s data, video, timing, telemetry and evidence of in-vehicle video,” Steward said.
“The Car 81 (Piastri) had previously collided with a barrier at the exit of Turn 14, damaging the rear right wheel, maintaining puncture and suspension damage. A red flag was displayed when the car 22 reached Turn 6.
“After turn 12, car 22 was approaching car 81 in the back. The driver of car 22 said he saw car 81 slowly moving along the left side of the truck and doing obvious damage.
“Telemtry showed that car 81 was moving at 86kph when car 22 overtook at a speed of 171kph. Having taken the issue extensively into account, the steward determined that car 81 had a clear problem but had not traveled at a speed that prevented car 22 from tracking it at a safe distance.
“The situation was so long as there was no good reason for the driver of car 22 to overtake car 81.”
It marks a major blow to the tsunami amid his ongoing struggle at Red Bull.
The Japanese driver came over the weekend and insisted he needed to target Q3, but if he doesn’t qualify for a top nine position now, he could face a start on the grid’s back.
