The Detroit Pistons were told to enter the Kevin Durant trade sweepstakes for a “seamless” fit.

The former NBA star urged the Detroit Pistons to take part in Kevin Durant’s sweepstakes.

The two-time MVP is expected to leave the Phoenix Suns after just two and a half seasons.

Brian Windhorst confirmed that the Minnesota Timberwolves could explore Kevin Durant’s trading deal.

Reports say the Timberwolves and Houston Rockets are two-time champion destinations.

But former NBA player Joe Johnson said the Detroit Pistons should bring in the 2014 MVP and try to add a veteran presence to the younger locker room.

Despite his age, Durant is still one of the best scorers in the game, averaging over 26 points in the 2024-25 season.

Johnson revealed he has an exciting roster for the piston, but they missed scorers like KD, which became more noticeable in the playoffs.

“If I’m the Pistons in Detroit and this young group I have with Cade, then you’re the young dog that’s where you’ve got there. I think he’ll fit seamlessly over there, because he’s a genuine scorer.”

Cade Cunningham was the only player in the Pistons who seemed to be consistent in scoring throughout the six-game series against the New York Knicks.

Tobias Harris and Tim Hardaway Jr. have shown veteran abilities, but are not scorers like KD.

“We know now that you can say you’re 37, but he played for at least a few years, and for a few more years within him, on a team where he didn’t have to do that dirty work.

“He’s just smooth, he can go out there and cool 25 and 32 a night.

Even 36 is difficult to do because of assets that require KD transactions to be attached.

The Suns are likely to want a lot, and while reports suggest that they will lower the demands, it is difficult for the team to function without the current roster.

Even if Durant comes to the team, the Suns could be tough for Piston, seeking younger productions like Jalen Duren and Orsarl Thompson on contracts.

They have a lot of cap space and can afford a contract, but it may be wise for the team not to move if they need to give up one of these two young stars to bring in Durant.
