Former UFC champion TJ Dillashaw believes that Merab Dvalishvili and Aljamain Sterling should fight each other despite their declaration that they will never do so.
As we know, Merab Dvalishvili is the UFC Bantamweight champion. One of the former champions is Aljamain Sterling, one of his best friends. They have trained together for years, but they are both extremely successful, and their friendship is a huge part of the story.
These days, Aljamain Sterling has been busy competing in Featherweight. Merab Dvalishvili has torn apart a parade of bantamweight fighters over the past few years, as if Corey Sandhagen is on the horizon on his next outing.
But TJ Dillashaw has bigger and better ideas. With the recent podcast appearance, he informed him that he would like to see Merab Dvaliszvili and Aljaman Sterling competing against each other in the middle of the cage.

“I want to see the battle between Merab and Sterling,” Dillashaw said in a recent episode of the Jaxxon Podcast.
“They can make a lot of money. I know they’re best friends, but you’re paid.

I don’t feel this is truly a real possibility. That’s fine. Both fighters go their own paths, which makes for an interesting story, but you’ll feel that it’s too manufactured. These people are close friends and will like Dvalishvili, but you have to think that Sterling will still think he can get the job done.
That’s not great for their relationship, and in reality, it’s probably not necessary.
