The UFC 319 main event has no backup fighters as Nassourdine Imavov messed up his commitment to that role.
UFC 319 is set for August 16th in Chicago, Illinois. The card will be headlined by a middleweight title fight as South African champion Dorikas du Plessis attempts to defend his belt against the undefeated Chechen Juggernaut Kamza Chimeyev. It’s easily one of the biggest fights of the year and everyone wants it to go down as planned. However, accidents can occur. Also, Chimaev has a track record of retreating from last minute battles.
The risk of the UFC 319 main event collapsed, and the company called on Imabov, No. 1 Frenchman Nassoldeen, to act as a backup fighter for the event. In other words, he promised to intervene whether Du Plessis or Chimaev could not reach the cage.
Nassoldeen Imavov Shrugs in the UFC 319 Backup Role
From the sound he is no longer interested. On Tuesday, Imabov took him to social media and declared that he would save his duties. He claimed that the conditions had changed, but he did not give any further explanation. Instead, he set up a fight on fellow Brazilian candidate Caio Boraljo.

“We don’t have any backups anymore,” Imabov wrote. “The conditions have changed.
“You wanted to talk to me about your son, I’m here,” he added, tagging Boraljo. “I’m going to break you.”
The Nassourdine Imavov is currently one of the best running in the middleweight division. In his final battle, he won the biggest victory of his career to date, knocking out former champion Israel Adesanya. If Chimaev didn’t surprise fans with Robert Whitaker’s submission last week, Imabov could have scored a shot at Duplesis at UFC 319. If he beat Boraljo, he could not deny because of cracks in the winner of the card’s main event.
