Will Celtic sign another Premier League superstar?
Kieran Tierney has already returned to Parkhead this summer, following in the footsteps of managers Brendan Rodgers and Jota.
Now, can another boyish Celtic fan make his dream come true of wearing the famous green and white hoops?
Celtic signing another statement
According to a TeamTalk report, Celtic is “interested” in signing Liverpool fullback Andy Robertson, while acknowledging that “financial constraints” prove to be a stumbling block.
The Scottish captain is widely expected to leave Merseyside this summer. With David Ornstein and Mario Cortegana of athletics, who document Atletico Madrid’s interest, given that the Reds are targeting Milos Kerquez of Bournemouth.
Robertson, who was at Celtic’s academy between the ages of nine and 15, has always been open about his desire to represent Hoops one day, admitting that “Celts were my life,” adding that he loves pulling Celtic’s top and walking at Parkhead.
So will this movement really come to fruition this summer?
How Andy Robertson compares to Kieran Tierney
This summer, everything has changed from a Celtic left-back perspective.
Greg Taylor is very likely to leave following the expiration of his contract. Paok is the latest European club interested in securing his services, but it is not yet clear whether Jeffrey Schulp will stay following the short loan spell.
Meanwhile, Tierney has of course returned, but is he better than Robertson, as has been the incredible debate surrounding the national team for a decade?
Let’s look into it.

First off, Tierney played club football for less than 500 minutes this season due to injuries and the fact that he wasn’t the first choice at Arsenal.
That warning aside, Robertson’s statistics per 90 remain far more impressive overall.
When he was still manager of Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp described Robertson as “world-class left-back,” and former incumbent of the Reds full-back spot, Jose Enrique claims he was “the best left-back in the world” for many years.
But now, James Pierce and Mark Carey outline the athletic that the Scotland captain form “stricken into intense scrutiny” this season, but he claims he’s far from “ends at the highest level.”
Robertson ranked 17th in the Premier League this season for crossing to the penalty area, according to FBREF.com, an attribute that has been considered his superpower for many years.
Gillian Casilier of the full football analysis claims that Robertson “passed the peak” but still has a lot to offer at an elite level, so would he really want to move to Glasgow this summer?
