Alex de Minauer advances easily to the 2025 US Open Quarter Finals

No. 8 Seedalex de Minaur moved to the US quarterfinals after beating qualifier Leandro Reedy 6-3, 6-2, 6-1 within the fourth spherical on Monday.

De Minaur progresses to his sixth main quarter remaining and continues to be hoping for his first semi-final look within the slams. To beat that hurdle, he must beat both No. 15 Andrei Rublev or No. 25 Felix Auger Ariasime, who performed at Arthur Ash Stadium on Monday afternoon.

De Minaur is the primary Australian to make consecutive open quarter finals within the US since Lleyton Hewitt, who reached seven straights from 2000-06.

Since Richard Krajsek performed the quarter-finals at Wimbledon in 2002, Reidi, the world’s 435 No. 435, was the bottom man to make 16 rounds in each main.
