Gujarat Titans win a thriller against Mumbai Indians with the final ball
Choosing to bowl first in the match, GT limited the Mumbai Indians to a standard of less than 155/8. Sai Kishore put two wickets in a bag, and Mohammed Siraj, Arshad Khan, Prashid Krishna, Rashid Khan and Gerald Kohthy each picked up one wicket. Chasing after the target, GT deepened the match and after the final rain, he needed 15 runs and scored on the final ball.
Speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony, Shabmangill, who won the Player Award for the match, said the chaotic scenes during the match gave him a Test cricket vibe. He said:
“After the rain, we got into the bat, but it was always good chaos to have a W on your side. The game plan was different on the power play. The atmosphere felt like a test match.”
But the universe gave us a chance two minutes ago.
While talking about the Gujarat Titans strategy, Shubman Gill said he wants to play carefully in power play. He explained in detail:
“I wanted to take a game after the power play, but it kept raining, the wicket was a little late and the rain started falling, so the shot wasn’t easy to hit.
“But the universe gave us a chance two minutes ago. We took it. When the match goes to the final ball when it chases 150, all contributions become important.
Shubman Gill expressed his satisfaction with Rashid Khan’s incredible bowling performance in the match. He said:
“(In Rashid’s bowling tonight) he’s back from his injury, that’s not easy, he bowls a lot online and it was good for him to see the bowl tonight.
