"BCCI is efficient": Sourav Ganguly shuts down all panic after IPL 2025 suspension

Former Indian National Cricket Team captain and President Sourav Ganguly of the Indian Cricket Committee (BCCI) have calmed down all panic after a weekly suspension of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

Sourav Ganguly said that the Indian Cricket Committee (BCCI) is very efficient and will make the rest of the competition very smoothly.

IPL 2025 on 7-day suspension amid tensions in India and Pakistan

The match between Delhi Capitals (DC) in Dharamsala and Punjab Kings (PBK) IPL 2025 was called as Pakistan launched a coronavirus attack on India and had to implement a blackout and was called midway through Pakistan.

The day after the incident, the Indian Cricket Committee (BCCI) announced that during a meeting with relevant authorities and stakeholders it had been decided to suspend India’s Premier League 2025 for a week.

BCCI also said fresh updates on the new schedule and venue for IPL 2025 will be announced soon after a comprehensive assessment of the situation and discussions with the government.

In particular, 58 matches have been completed so far in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League, with 12 more group stage matches remaining along with the playoffs.

Speaking about the current situation involving India’s Premier League 2025, Sourav Ganguly said that the Indian committee for cricket can handle it efficiently.

Sourav Ganguly emphasized that amid the Covid-19 turmoil of 2020 and 2021, the Governing Body has made IPL 2025 smooth and is confident in smooth conduct this time.

“We’ve seen IPLs have been suspended for seven days today. BCCI is completing this. BCCI is efficient. During Covid, it was another emergency. I’m sure BCCI will complete it.”

Talents have appeared from IPL – Sourav Ganguly for the past 18 years

The ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League saw the emergence of young people such as Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Ayush Mhatre, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh.

Speaking about the youth, Sourav Ganguly said that the IPL has produced great talent over the years, labeling it as one of the best cricket competitions in the world.

“For the past 18 years, talent has emerged from Punjab openers Priyansh Arya, Suryavanshi and Prabhsimran Singh. The IPL is one of the best cricket tournaments in the world,” Ganguly further said.
