We promise to be another busy summer transfer window for Aston Villa. Aston Villa has to navigate PSR issues to do business. Not all Unai Emery players are allowed to stay. As for one team member, his days are almost certainly numbered.

Villa will make an important signature in January to increase opportunities to achieve goals in the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup. One of them was Marco Asensio, and was loaned out by PSG.

The former Real Madrid attacker was impressed after moving to Villa Park. Eight goals scored in all competitions in 18 appearances. But nonetheless, it doesn’t seem enough to keep him at Aston Villa.

Speaking to a football insider, former scout Mick Brown confirmed that Aston Villa is not planning to sign Asensio permanently, despite being impressed since joining the loan in January.

“Asensio is going back to PSG. He’s a very talented player, but I’m worried that they’ve lost a bit of his leg. Villa creates situations and he can get involved. He has the ability to make a difference in the final third, whether he scores or creates.

“As I say, he’s very talented, but I think Villa wants someone with a little more energy. They want to play at a high tempo, and the Rashford and Maren signatures injected that pace into a team that Asensio lacks.

Asensio has been reported to be more likely to stay at Aston Villa than fellow lender Marcus Rashford, these developments could raise even more questions about the situation for the man United Man, as he could argue that he could not secure a permanent stay at Villa Park.
