Diego Lopez revealed when he wanted to travel back inside the Octagon.

Lopez faced Alexander Volkanovsky for the vacant UFC Featherweight Championship in April. Lopez had several moments, but Volkanovski proved he was still an elite 145-pounder. Volkanovski defeated Lopez with an unanimous decision to become a two-time UFC featherweight champion.
Lopez wants to go back to horses and he knows the exact cards he wants to be a part of.

Lopes is participating in the Noche UFC card
In an interview with Danny Segura of the “Hablems MMA” podcast on Mmajunkie.com, he put his name in his hat for Guadalajara’s fight at UFC 320.
“My focus is to compete at Noche UFC in September,” Lopes told Hablemos MMA in Spanish. “The two names I would like are rematch against Movsar (Evloev) or battle with Yair (Rodriguez). Either one will bring me closer to the title.”
At this point, Lopez has one goal in mind. It’s about finding yourself in another UFC title fight.
“The fight I have to take is a guarantee that I will fight for the belt next,” Lopez said. “We haven’t thought much about what we want to do yet, but obviously we’re my purpose to fight there. That’s my purpose. It’s the battle that’s closest to the title. Regardless of who it is, the UFC wants to fight. That’s what I’m taking, it’s fine.”
Lopes and Evloev fought back in 2023. The match won the honor of “Battle of the Night” and the decision was made to Evloev. The rope also has some bad blood with Rodriguez, and many believe that if Evloev becomes Volkanovsky’s challenger, that’s the direction the UFC should enter.
