Manchester City may win the FA Cup next week, but it won’t be a comfort to the gloomy season they endure in the Premier and Champions League.
City’s title challenge, knocked out of the latter by Real Madrid in February, was effectively finished by the turn of the year.
Pep Guardiola made an important signing in January, but he’s keen to add a few more players to his team in the summer.
Is he ready to raid the Bundesliga again?

As reported earlier this week by German news outlet builds, City took part in the race this summer with Eintrak Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitique.
They signed Omar Marmash from the same club in January and it appears as if they were about to raid them again.
Liverpool and Arsenal are deeply connected to the French these days, but Guardiola appears to be ready to make his move.
As the club chases him, Frankfurt has a price tag of 100 million euros (£85 million) on his head, potentially blocking potential bids.
City has been a significant portion of the signatures from Germany’s top flights over the years, but it was the capture of Edin Zeko that set the club on their first Premier League title.
Hugo Ekitike may be the city’s next Edinzeko
Zeko joined City midway through the 2010/11 campaign – following his own prolific stint in the Bundesliga with Wolfsberg – and enjoyed a solid first few months, scoring six times for the club.
In the 2011/12 season, the Etihad side was the first to claim the Premier League crown, with Zeco winning the net 19 times in all competitions under Roberto Mancini.
The pure striker, the Bosnian finished the spell with the club with 72 goals in 198 matches. It followed 85 goals he scored in just 142 games between him in Germany.
Potential German imports like Dzeko, Ekitike certainly has his own qualities before the goal. It is known for a lot. In Frankfurt this season, he found the backstage of the net 15 times in the Bundesliga.
Additionally, he also creates 12 big opportunities and is successful with 1.6 dribbling per game, showing that he offers more than his clinical nature in front of goals.

During the formative years of his career, many people expected him to achieve great things. He believed he could “be the next Mbappe” after linking with his move to Newcastle in 2022.
The youngster may not have hit the current highs of Real Madrid senses, but optimism is that his career has been revived in Frankfurt after a disappointing spell with PSG.
Compared to his Bundesliga peers, Ekitique ranks in the top 9% with total shots (3.82), assists (0.29), shot-making actions (3.52), and take-ons (1.9) successes (3.52) per 90 over the past 365 days.
Not only are they satisfied with being a pure striker, but the French offer plenty in the final third. £85 million may put off the city, but if they can lower this price, they could move to the card.

Guardiola already boasts the Sergio Aguero -Eske charm at Erling Haaland, but Ekitike can represent a complete study, as Zeko was years ago.
