Rangers Flop may have played his last game with Ibrox

The Glasgow Rangers ended the same way they ended their 2024/25 campaign. He couldn’t win in Edinburgh.

In August, the Ibrox side only attracted 0-0 against the Hearts at Tynecastle, making it the second season when they were unable to win the opening match of the Premiership season.

This afternoon, the Rangers only managed to finish the worst season in the club’s recent history, drawing 2-2 at Hibernian on Easter Road.

The goals of Cyriel Dessers and Nicolas Raskin gave GERS a 2-1 advantage. No obvious goal was awarded when the ball tied 1-1 despite the ball crossing the Hibbs line at least one foot at a time.

Martin Boyle was equal with 25 minutes remaining, forcing both teams to take away their share of booty.

Jack Butland has confirmed two more goals, but it would be a surprise to see him still at the club next season.

Jack Butland’s future is uncertain in Rangers

To say the least, the drop-off in the form of the British this season was amazing. Over 44 matches in all competitions, Butland has only held 14 clean sheets, acknowledging 51 goals in the process.

He has admitted more than two goals in 10 of his 28 league matches, saying, “It’s clear that the Keeper could potentially play his final game for the club against the club.

Batland should have done better for Kieran Bowie’s efforts to make it 1-1, but he misjudged the cross on the box. That means Martin Boyle had plenty of room to make it 2-2, and he couldn’t prove that Ferguson had been wrong in dropping him for Liam Kelly for the past few weeks.

He’s not the only player who has to leave Ibrox this summer. This is because many others on the first team are likely to be transferred by someone who will become the club’s permanent manager.

Tom Lawrence had to top the list, and he proved exactly why during today’s cameo.

The Rangers must release Tom Lawrence

Over three full seasons in Glasgow, Lawrence missed 75 games due to injury issues. During that period, the Welsman scored only 12 goals for the Rangers.

Earning £22k per week is clear that clubs can spend this kind of money elsewhere on the team.

He was still against the Hibbs in 35 minutes towards Mohamed Diomande, but he couldn’t solidify the midfield as Gers chased three points.

The midfielder took just 15 touches, completed eight passes, lost four ownership and failed to register a single dribble or shot on goal.

It is doubtful why he was given a runout. In particular, there are a few young people on the bench looking to get much needed game time heading into the 2025/26 campaign.

Hopefully the new manager will release the former Derby County star in the summer. Because Glasgow Side has not proven reliable in terms of availability, as shown in his injury record, not the quality needed to support the Celtic challenge at home in the next season.

It’s a summer change with Ibrox. The question is, will it be enough to just get the Premiership Crown back in four years?
