Virat Kohli’s decision to retire from testing leaves a lot of disappointment. The former Indian batter is still one of the best batters in the world and is very fitting, but he decided to beat Curtains in his illustrious Test career.
Virat Kohli will continue to be seen in action in IPL and ODIS, but former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri says that once a star batsman retires from any format, he will not be associated with the game. According to Shastri, it is unlikely that Virat Kohli will do so after some former cricketers have retired as players in coaching and broadcasting.
Not too long ago, but during the event of Royal Challenger Bengaluru, the right-handed batsman told himself: “Once I’m gone.

And Shastri now reflects the same sentiment. The former Indian all-rounder said Kohari isn’t around the game when he retires, but he said he’ll miss the batting a lot when India locks the horn against England in the upcoming Test series.
“He is still in service to Indian cricket in ODI, but I also know that Virat will leave the game once he finishes playing cricket. He doesn’t want him to coach or take on the role of the broadcaster.
“Virat Kohli still had two years of Test cricket left.”
Like the majority, Ravi Shastri considers Virat Kohli’s test retirement to be a major premature. The former cricketer-turned commonman said Virat Kohli could continue for another two years in the longest form of the game.
Not only that, Shastri also said that passing captain Kohli for England’s upcoming tour was not a bad idea. Shastri said mental fatigue may have played a major role in Kohli’s sudden decision to leave the longest form of the game.
“I’m sure Virat still had two years of Test cricket left. I wanted to meet him this summer in England. It would have been a good idea to hand him the captain for the tour, but you’d probably know the best reason why he decided to leave.
“Perhaps mental fatigue has driven him to decide because he was as healthy as the rest of his team. He knew his body best, but his mind would have played a crucial role.
Kohli is currently busy playing for RCB in the ongoing IPL 2025. The right-hander enjoys another prolific campaign with the bat. After winning the Orange Cap last year, Kohli has been awarded the prestigious award this season. In 11 games so far, he has scored 505 runs with the help of the 50s.
