The “Fantastic” Premier League star has decided to reject Liverpool’s move this summer

Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rodgers has been attracting attention this season by the biggest Premier League clubs, including Liverpool.

The 22-year-old scored 14 goals and provided 15 assists this season, making him one of the best players on Unai Emery’s side.

It’s no surprise that his illustrious form has not been noticed, and Arne Slot, who is trying to add creativity to his side this summer, is one of the players who are solid on their radar.

He has been abandoned as an “illusion” by Pat Nevin for his impressive performance.

However, the offensive midfielder’s attitude towards possible moves towards Anfield has been revealed.

Morgen Rogers are not interested in Liverpool’s moves

According to TBR Football, Rodgers could refuse to travel to Liverpool this summer if Liverpool is intrigued to sign him.

Many players looking to create their own place with the England team for the 2026 World Cup are reluctant to move to a larger club this summer, as they limit their playing time this summer and therefore limit opportunities to be positioned on Thomas Tuschel’s team.

Journalist Graeme Bailey has provided the latest updates on this situation.

“Liverpool loves Morgan Rogers, and there’s no way they can escape from it.”

“But it’s rare for Rodgers to leave for multiple reasons. The feedback I get from players’ camp is that they are very aware that we are in the World Cup cycle now.”

“So someone like Rodgers… if he’s leaving now, if he’s going to Liverpool, then he’s playing the Devil’s Advocate and that’s not going to work, he’s not going to go to the World Cup.”

With the competition for the starting lineup location at Anfield being far more intense than its presence at Aston Villa, it’s easy to understand why Rogers is reluctant to join Liverpool.

If he’s only 22 years old and continues to advance similarly, it’s only a matter of time for him to move to a bigger club.

Rogers is a player who can play as an attacking midfielder and winger, and if he is available in the market, his stock will be high.

He needs to be patient about his big moves and wait for the right timing and opportunity.

Currently, the Rogers contract is out of reach, but the Merseyside Club is approaching Milos Kerquez’s signature from Bournemouth.
